Cruise Holidays in Europe

January 16th 2012 -

Although it’s no secret that cruises are becoming popular with travellers on holiday, some are overlooking the benefits of staying close to home. I know that it can seem adventurous and exciting to travel across the Atlantic or visit far away destinations; however, there are plenty of wonders right here in our own scenic country. Cruising through Europe whilst on a cruise holiday can be as relaxing or as adventurous as you want; all you need to do is find the type of cruise that reflects your interests and will accommodate the people who will be joining you on holiday.

Relaxing Cruises in Europe

If you simply want to go on a holiday that is relaxing, I recommend looking into Norwegian cruise lines.  When you step aboard one of the their cruise vessels, such as the Norwegian Jade, you will have access to a pampering spa, swimming pools, hot tubs, and fitness centres. When the ship stops at port, consider taking the Adventures in Art tour, which allows you to see the beauty of Berlin. You will be able to venture into the countryside in a private vehicle, whilst stopping along the way to visit impressive art collections at the Old National Gallery and the Berlin Guggenheim. After the tour, retreat to the ship and relax in the lounge or visit one of the formal restaurants for a romantic dinner.

Cruises for Adults

I know that couples sometimes want to escape on a holiday that is romantic, so I recommend considering Celebrity Cruise Lines. On-board the Celebrity Constellation you will be immersed in an elegant and refined atmosphere. Whilst exploring the ship, you can marvel at the majesty of the ocean as you ride in the glass elevator, eat a delicious steak at the exquisite restaurant, or simply sit back and have a drink in the lounge. Celebrity Cruise Line does not disappoint when it comes to shore excursions, with plenty of opportunities to attend wine tastings or explore the rich history of the area. If you prefer to stay on board the ship, visit the luxurious spa for a full day of pampering and relaxation.

Cruises for Families

Cruises may not seem like the ideal holiday for families with young children, yet numerous cruise lines are now supplying special amenities and excursions directed towards families. MSC Cruise Line is an exceptional choice for families, with cruise ships that are designed with children in mind. Whilst the amenities on board each ship will vary depending upon which one you choose, some of the ships have mini-bowling alleys, cinemas, water parks, and children’s pools. They also offer clubs for children of all ages, as well as children’s menus and family cabins.

Cruising through Europe gives you the chance to get away for as much time as you want, with some cruises lasting for only three days, which is perfect for a short weekend holiday. I recommend taking time to partake in the shore excursions and marvel at the lovely area’s throughout Europe, and you will see that one does not have to go far to have a memorable holiday.
